Why isn't my login for the databases working? I am off-campus, and I need access.

Answer

Here's a few of the more common reasons:

  1. Try using the link on the login page that says We are transitioning to Emerson's Single Sign-On login system. Please try this method first. If you use the username/password on that first login page instead, the system does not realize that firstname_lastname@emerson.edu and firstname_lastname are the same user ID. Do not include @emerson.edu in your username when you use the old system.
  2. You are an alumni. Unfortunately, our subscription licenses will not allow alumni access from off-campus. 
  3. Are you using a VPN (virtual private network)? You may need to turn that off first.
