How do I put books/chapters/articles on reserve for my class?

Answer

Faculty can place books, ebooks, book chapters, articles, DVDs, VHS tapes, and streaming video from the Iwasaki Library collections on reserve for your students to read/view.

For streaming video requests, fill out the Media Request Form. You can also contact our Media Librarian, Maureen Tripp (maureen_tripp@emerson.edu) for special situations.

For all other reserve requests, including physical media like DVDs, fill out the Reserves Request form. Questions can be directed to the Reserves Coordinator, Theo Wolf (theo_wolf@emerson.edu).

Regarding required textbooks ordered via the Emerson College bookstore: If you place your bookstore orders by the deadline, library staff can review those requests and will attempt to source your texts and place them on reserve, without you needing to place a separate request. Every effort will be made to put all texts on reserve before the first day of classes each semester, however, that is not always possible due to the large volume of texts. Late submissions will be handled in the order in which they are made.
